FSC Campaigns

The Kirin Group Japan created the "Kirin School Challenge" as a manner to create awareness from early age. It is not a way to teach unilaterally, but to tell the how to connect the young generations with the future. The theme of the challenge is "afternoon tea × sustainable container". Kirin owns a "Packaging Technology Research Institute" which develops containers and packaging, and we are innovating with sustainable containers. In order to improve the sustainability of containers and packaging materials, Kirin also uses FSC® certified paper that guarantees responsible use of forest resources in paper containers, "bottle to bottle" which uses recovered PET bottle as recycled pet material. The students are invited to generates innovation and ideas to make packaging more sustainable.

The Kirin Group aims to make all paper packages of their products FSC certified paper by the end of 2020. With this campaign, they invite their clients to take a picture of FSC label that is on Kirins Group's products and tweet with the hashtag "# Kirin's paper container FSC"! This campaign is a give away, where 10 of the participants will win a prize. This way, they show their support to the great work being done by FSC.

The short animated video shows a representation of our everyday life choices and how to contribute to save the environment. Humans consume every day, and therefore, little choices can make the different.Throughout different products, the animation shows how easy is to make better decisions when buying just by looking FSC label. The video invites the public to take a moment and look for FSC label in every product: an option to protect the forest and protect everyone's future.

With the video created by WWF US, WWF Russia aims to show their support and the importance of FSC label to their public. WWF supports FSC certification, as it contributes to the prevention of forest degradation and depletion of the forest resources of our planet. They explain that FSC (Forest Stewardship Council® / Forest Stewardship Council) is an international organization that has established a system for confirming the environmental and social responsibility of forest management. The FSC label on wood or on a product made from it is an indication that the products come from a forest in which ecologically and socially responsible forestry is maintained.

This short video aims to create awareness about the buying choices the individuals make. All the timber and wood products we buy -- from furniture to flooring to paper -- started life in a forest somewhere. Trees were cut down, processed and sold to you as a door, a kitchen worktop or maybe a book. But not all wood comes from well-managed forests. So how can you be sure you're choosing the right wood -- wood that's sustainably produced without causing harm to people or wildlife? The invitation is to make sure to look up for the FSC label in all those products.

This short documentary aims to educate about the importance of FSC certification. Tchibo brings a short video explaining the relation between different production sources and the final consumption products. Through the questions: What do garden furniture have to do with our climate, biodiversity and the rights of indigenous peoples?, the video develops a easy flow using the personification of a well beloved product: a coffee bean .

Mr. Bean does not know yet the relationship between them. Hence, the video explains: garden furniture is made of wood, which is obtained from trees, finished. That this is only half the story, Mr. Bean learns in his latest adventure. There he discovers responsible forest management, which is certified to the strict guidelines of the Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC) - from the tree to the finished lounge chair.
